Based on the original plaited rag rugs made by the early American settlers for their cabins, the Welsh business, The Braided Rug Company, decided to create their own range of rugs designed with the British market in mind. Wanting to use a natural yarn in their products, in 2011 they started working with a small manufacturing company in Bangladesh, using organic jute fibres to make their rugs. The rugs, placemats and coasters from Braided Rug are the real thing, and are uncompromising in their quality. The yarns are spun, dyed into a rainbow of colours, and then woven into braids. Sewn by artisans who often sign their work, the rugs are then ready to adorn the floors of your home.
